Viridian to Showcase New Gun Cam at 2022 NSA Annual Conference

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – June 27, 2022 – Viridian Weapon Technologies understands the need for transparency in the law enforcement environment. As such, Viridian will debut its FACT Duty + Gun Camera, the newest version of the only product designed to show what really happened in an officer involved shooting. Viridian will attend the 2022 National Sheriffs’ Association Annual Conference in Kansas City, Missouri June 27-30 , 2022, and can be found in booth #820 .

The NSA was chartered in 1940 with the goal of assisting those in all areas of criminal justice to perform their jobs in the best possible manner and to better serve the people of their cities, counties or jurisdictions. The organization assists law enforcement in providing both information and services in multiple areas. The 2022 Annual Conference is one of many ways the association performs these services, with product displays, seminars and workshops available on law enforcement and its many areas. This conference is one of the largest of its kind, and Viridian is delighted to be in attendance.

“The FACT Duty+ is the culmination of our work with so many new, large police departments,” said Viridian President and CEO, Brian Hedeen. “We are very excited to showcase the new product and all of its features at the NSA Annual Conference. The FACT Duty+ is essential for every gun-carrying officer as it provides what really happened without requiring extra training or changes to tactics.”

Viridian Gun Cameras have proven beneficial after they provided crucial evidence in an officer-involved shooting (OIS) trial in Vernon, Texas in 2020. The jury convicted the defendant of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a public official. The Gun Camera provided the critical evidence in the case by showing the defendant pointing a sawed-off shotgun at Vernon Police Corporal T.J. Session during an exchange of gunfire in which both Corporal Session and the defendant were shot and wounded.

The highly advanced FACT Duty+ weapon mounted camera employs a 1080p full-HD digital camera with a microphone and 500 lumen tactical light. The new FACT Duty+ now has the option for Viridian’s famed Green Laser technology to improve visibility and aim. Viridian’s proprietary INSTANT-ON® technology automatically activates the camera and microphone whenever the officer draws the firearm from its holster. Not only does this eliminate risk of failure to manually turn on the camera during a critical event, but it also keeps the officer from fumbling with cumbersome equipment. The biggest improvement to the new model is the new Dattery™ data storage system that detaches from the firearm’s recording device for immediate charging and completely secure data transfer to multiple third-party data management platforms. This has been created especially for larger departments that voiced the need for larger storage capabilities. The FACT Duty+ includes the Dattery™ Dock with 32 GB of built-in storage that can automatically download data while recharging.
